What is the difference between a Realtor and a Real Estate Agent? Some folks use these identifiers interchangably but there is a huge difference. Realtors belong to the National Association of Realtors (NAR) and usually their local Association of Realtors. By doing so, they commit themselves to a higher level of ethics. Realtors are not allowed to call another Realtor's clients nor are they allowed to solicit that client. They are also
required to put their client's interest above their own. Non-NAR members don't have to.
This is just good information to make you a smarter consumer. Realtors don't make more than a Real Estate Agent but I think you'll find they definitely work hard to earn it.
